Brod Melvin J. Sanicas, MD, ΜΣΦ 2006 (MEB ’05-’06) is first ever TOYM Honoree for Science/Medicine

The Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity proudly congratulates Brod Melvin J. Sanicas, MD, MSc, FRSPH, FRSA ΜΣΦ 2006 (MEB ’05-’06) for being one of this year’s Ten Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) Honorees for the field of Science/Medicine by the Junior Chamber International (JCI) Philippines, together with the TOYM Foundation, Inc., the Gerry Roxas Foundation and PLDT Home Fibr.

TOYM annual recognition which recognizes young Filipinos whose selfless dedication to their profession brought significant contributions to the welfare of their countrymen.

This year, the TOYM Awards Night was held on April 8 at the Okada Manila, Parañaque City. In his acceptance speech as a TOYM Honoree, Brod Melvin shared important things he learned over his career: first, facing rejections and learning to move on from them; second, admitting that you don’t know (the first step to learning something); and third, humility (which opens more doors than arrogance or anything ever will).

Brod Melvin also emphasized the importance of vaccines during these times. For him, the vaccines we have now are one of the best medical innovations of our lifetime yet some people still don’t realize how important vaccines are in ending the pandemic. “These vaccines are testimonies to what hard work and collaboration can achieve” said Brod Melvin who he hopes that this kind of collaboration can be translated to other things — not just Global Health but also to some social challenges that we have at the moment. Lastly, he encouraged everyone to get vaccinated and to encourage family members or friends who are still hesitant.

Congratulations, Brod! Your outstanding contributions and unselfish commitment in your field truly inspire us all!

All For The Glory!
