September 30, 2011, The Pergola --The rain was pouring down and the streets were filled with cars, I wondered then if there’s anything more that’s going to stop us from our tracks. I knew how long we, then the applicants of class 2015, and now the batch of 15 (pretty) girls, have gone to get to this, and the time from here to there was not easy.
From organizing a small party for cancer patients through MUnting KaCIyahan, the countless beautifully handmade posters and invites, the successful batch project, and to preparing for that special week during summer, sometimes it makes me think wonder revel on how we were able to do it. But, as Mu, probably the best way to answer is, “we just did it”. Despite the setbacks and the doubts, we, the batch 2015, just did it.
And as expected, the night was something for the books. It was nice to see the sisses, both alumnae and undergrad, gathered together to celebrate our induction. Seeing my batchmates all donning gowns and walking on heels made me feel like a big sister looking at her siblings all grown up. The hugs from our mommies, batch 2013, made me all the more feel that what we’ve once dreamed of is finally a reality.
After the formalities of the induction rites of this year’s officers and ours, more fun and recalled memories later ensued. Batch 2013 prepared an audiovisual presentation of what the Sorority has mold us into. And after much ado, we went up the stage and had our (hopefully, final) salvo with the dreaded dance floor. Since the night was young, it was all well-spent taking pictures of ourselves all grand and elegant.

Batch 2015 show off their true selves

Batch 2015 poses with sisses from their inducting batch, Batch 2013, and Batch 2011.
As much as the induction ball is a celebration of what we have accomplished as applicants, none of our achievements is without the guidance of our inducting batch, batch 2013, without the help of our alalay batch, batch 2014, the executive committee of 2010-2011, the current executive committee, and the rest of the sisses who have taught us important lessons even without them knowing it. We give our love and lifelong gratitude to you.
And as they say, this is only the beginning. There will indeed be more things need to be done and more challenges ahead. But as we were carefully taught during the application process, we’re just going to push through walls and set higher standards. We’re just going to do it because our love for Mu goes on, and on, and on and on,..
