“Sisterhood is something that cannot be explained... it can only be experienced.”
Once again, in light of continuing the traditions of the sorority’s that has been ongoing for its 76 years of existence, sisses far and wide came together to welcome the freshmen of the UP College of Medicine in KaMUstahan: An Orientation and Introductory Dinner.
The event, held last July 28 at the 7th Floor of Robinsons Place Residences, was graced by many of our distinguished alumnae as well as by the young ladies of Batch 2015. Even making the night more special were words from four of our alumnae: Dra. Bles Mantaring ’84, who is part of the faculty of the Department of Anatomy, spoke for sorority’s Scholarship pillar; Dra. Bernie Madrid ’83, the current Director of the Child Protection Unit of PGH, expounded on the Leadership pillar; Dra. Nina Berba ’87 who is the Chair of the Hospital Infection Control Unit of PGH, enlightened us with the Service Pillar; and Dra. Joie Cañal ’95, currently a consultant of the Department of Radiology and also the Sorority's Consultant Adviser, delighted everyone present during the dinner with her presentation of the sorority’s Sisterhood pillar. An intermission number was performed by Zie Verzosa ’14 and Tin Hernandez ‘14. The event was hosted by Jan Quijano ’12 and Macy Dollete ’14.
It was a night full of laughter, fun, and memories. Truly, KaMUstahan is one of the events that sisses look forward to, as it not only gives the sisses the chance to meet the new batch of applicants and freshmen, but it also gives the freshmen a glimpse of the extraordinary experience that is being Mu.
