The Pillar of Service Print E-mail

The medical profession is a service profession. It exists to propagate the side of human nature that is good, natural and humane.

Since its founding, the Mu Sigma Phi has been living up to its purpose and principles of cultivating and preserving an unselfish spirit of self-denying service. Health missions, socio-civic activities, drug and equipment donations, constructions of facilities for the College and PGH, formation of the drug, blood, and eye banks, of health support groups, community developments and health advocacies are but a few of the many testaments of the fraternity’s true spirit of service. These contributions have reaped many awards and citations for us but we draw our inspiration not from these recognitions but from the thought and feeling of having helped others, even sometimes to an extent that is beyond our capacities and expectations.

After 76 years, Mu continues to serve our country and fellowmen with the goal of achieving not glory for ourselves but for others, as this has been the core and essence of our existence as a medical fraternity since 1933.
