The frenzied med student is easily absorbed into a world of books, charts, reports, and exams. For Sembreak 2009, a few hours out of Manila, a salty breeze in the October sun, and a buffet of sights, sounds, and tastes were all it took to set things right – as Mu brods and neophytes did for the annual Anilao Fellowship at the rest house of Dr. Willy Sison ΜΣΦ 1974.
A much-awaited sem-ender and weekend getaway, the Anilao Fellowship from October 24 to 25 afforded brods leisure time amid this exquisite marine hotspot of Batangas, thanks to the continued generosity of Brod Willy.
The sea noticeably more restless with the brewing typhoon elsewhere, brods swam, snorkeled, dove, and kayaked into the orange hues of sunset. The brods beheld the diversity of fishes, corals, and nudibranchs in the remarkable Anilao setting. In the chill of the evening, brods reveled in great food and great company, with toasts all around.
Bright skies and calmer waters the next day let brods maximize the remaining morning of their retreat, concluded most fittingly by a hearty send-off breakfast.
Congrats to Most Illustrious Brother Gio Delgado ΜΣΦ 2012 and the Membership Committee for the successful outing. Many thanks to our host, Brod Willy, and the brods who joined. Onwards to the Second Semester, all for the glory!

Mu Sigma Phi's number at the Tao Rin Pala 2009. Watch as the entire fraternity performs a "stomp" routine. Turn up the volume to hear a very familiar chant to the tune of LMFAO's sh*ts, err... Shots. |
