Last April 26, 2011, the Office of Senator Pia Cayetaño held a screening of the QEFF film entries that tackled maternal healthcare at Alabang--a locale recently reaping attention for its forthright opposition of contraception. The screening was intended to reach a dialogue between the supporters of the PRO and ANTI RH (reproductive health) Bill, with the Honorable Senator Cayetano being a fervent advocate of the former.

The event was well attended by representatives from the local government, religious groups, non-government organizations, journalists, the medical community, and Alabang constituents. Though the Mu Sigma Phi has been impartial on the RH Bill conflict, it will continue working with the Office of Senator Cayetano--hoping that this collaboration can improve the awareness on the regressive maternal and child healthcare in our country, and call on legislators to arrive at a comprehensive national solution to this undeniable crisis.
