Generations of Filipinos can know more about the riveting saga of the first 100 years of the Philippine General Hospital in a commemorative book published by the University of the Philippines Press after it was formally launched last July 23, 2010 at Balay Kalinaw, UP Diliman.
Entitled Siglo: A Hundred Years of the PGH in the Service of the Filipino People, the book "recounts the origins of our beloved PGH that has stood the test of time as the beacon of hope for many Filipinos in the last hundred years", Dr. Jose Luis J. Danguilan, editor-in-chief, said during the launch. It took two years to complete, with the voluminous researches and information culled from the annals of history to bring to life the story of the national university hospital. Dr. Rafael C. Bundoc, Prof. Jerome Ong and Dr. Phillip Aristotle R. Hermida (co-authors), were also present during the launch. PGH Medical Foundation Inc. funded the endeavor.
