Dear Everyone, The peripheral rains of a new typhoon is in our midst as I write this email.
Yesterday our 11 Sisses, 22 Brods, and 7 fraternity applicants had their baptism of fire under the supervision of Dr. Mike Tee ΜΣΦ 1998 when they waded the floods of Muntinlupa to service close to 700 patients in the evacuation centers of Muntinlupa. These young boys and girls went back with more resolve to carry out more missions.
The same went for our 3 Sisses and 2 Brods who went to Tahanan ng Walang Hagdan to tend to 100 Persons with Disabilities (PWD's) mostly paraplegics secondary to Spinal Cord Injuries (SCI's). These patients were almost ready to meet their creator when the flood waters were almost at their necks. They survived BUT lost everything especially the equipment and machines in the center which they use to make a living out of building quality wheelchairs, and other orthopedic aids. Many had open wounds which need care.
Right now a big team of Brods and Sisses are packing relief aids at the Main Conference Room of the Department of Orthopedics. Brod Ted Tacata ΜΣΦ 1973, current chair of Ortho, offered the facility so our young brods and sisses can comfortably work and sort things we have purchased for the flood victims. Will keep all of you posted. |
