The MU Band took home first place in this year's Fearless at the East (F.A.T.E.) last Friday, September 19, 2008. "Our Strong Band" another band composed entirely of Mu members, took second place, and "Parokya Ni Glenn Tan" finished third.
F.A.T.E. (traditionally known as Friday At The East) is an annual production organized by the UP MSS and features a yearly "Battle-of-the-Bands." The Mu band has consistenly placed in the top three of F.A.T.E. for the past several years of the competition, and this year nearly swept all three top spots. While the bands differ in vocals, most of the same musicians played for both the "Mu Band" and "Our Strong Band." The third-place-winning "Parokya ni Glenn Tan" was a duo of UP Med alumni, one of which was brod Glenn Tan ΜΣΦ 2008 after whom the band is named. Fate also featured performances from the Mu Sigma Phi Sorority and the "MUsikeros."
