In partnership with the Department of Health, and also in belated celebration of World Blood Donor Day, the Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity held First Blood: A Blood Drive for the DOH Philippine Blood Center last June 21, 2011 at the Mu Hut of the UP College of Medicine.

For the first blood drive held in the UP College of Medicine this school year, a total of 33 students and faculty of UPCM volunteered to be part of the campaign. Twenty-five (25) units of blood were acquired for the DOH Philippine Blood Center and the Philippine General Hospital.

Regular blood drives are a major part of the Fraternity's Service Committee activities, in recognizing the value of blood units - known as a rare commodity in the PGH and in health centers nationwide.
