Overcoming both heavy competition and a faulty sound system, the Mu Band was declared once more the best band in the UP College of Medicine during the Fusion at the East (FATE), held by the UP Medical Students’ Society last August 28, 2011 at the PGH-UPMASA Science Hall.
The Mu Band, comprised of Lyz Fernan µΣΦ 2013 (vocals), MEB Button Ricarte (bass), Brother Noble Algene Agustin (lead), and Raphy Arada (keyboards) of MΣΦ F 2012, and Picoy Cruz (percussion), Rocky Jacinto (rhythm) and GOT Niño Venida of MΣΦ 2015, was awarded a final score of 94 out of a total 100 points, 7 points more than the second-place band.
Video of Mu Band's performance at FATE 2011 The Mu Band struck their own mash-up of Rude Boy by Rihanna and Last Resort by Papa Roach, followed by AC/DC and Adele’s Rolling in the Deep, much to the delight of the Mu-dominated crowd.
Other Mu performers were Zie Verzosa µΣΦ 2014 doing lead vocals for their block band W8rs, and neophytes Doi Infante (lead) and Josh Torres (rhythm) for Class 2016’s own band, Epimers, who placed third overall. The Mu Sigma Phi Sorority also joined in the variety show segment, providing a sizzling dance performance. In celebration of another Mu victory, brods and sisses extended the night’s festivities with drinks and fellowship at the Malate District. Congratulations to all the brods and sisses! All For The Glory! |
