Dear Brods, on the weekend of Oct 22, 2011, Kups [Villaruel] and I on behalf of Class ‘74, hosted 65 brods in an outing at my hut in Anilao, Batangas. The 65 brods included 13 who belong to the Class of 2016. The annual event has been ongoing for the past 10 years, and is held for the enjoyment of the brods currently in the UP College of Medicine, so that in between books and clinics, they may sing of life's frivolities. -Brod Willy Sison, MΣΦ 1974, from the Mu Loop
Even the most diligent medical students, after a seemingly endless blitzkrieg of exams, readings, ward rounds, and sleepless nights, long for an escape from the tedious cycle – preferably at a place far removed from these daily stresses, where only rest and relaxation may ensue. For the past decade, Mu Brods look to only one refuge for the getaway – Brod Willy Sison’s beach resthouse in Anilao, Batangas. What started as a one-time vacation trip by a handful of brods back in 2001 turned into a traditional welcome treat for the incoming neophytes, with Brod Willy having graciously hosted us time and again.

Fittingly timed early within the semestral break, 13 members of Batch 2016 were present among a legion of undergraduate and alumni brods who took – or perhaps, petitioned – time off from their respective rotations just to be part of such a momentous gathering last October 22-23, 2011. A haven of Mother Nature, with the sun in its fullest radiance manifest on the clear waters, along with the cool land breeze by the shore, magnified in the company of such a strong Brotherhood – nothing could possibly go wrong.

Even when the sun departed, the celebrations journeyed on, with food, music, laughter, and the arrival of more brods. A gathering of 65 brothers raised their glasses in honor and gratitude to our generous hosts from Batch 1974, and to the glory of the Mu Sigma Phi.

The merriment continued in the morning, with the weather affording last shots at the beach, followed by a sumptuous send-off breakfast and the traditional photo-ops. Each Mu brod in attendance surely returned back reinvigorated for the long semester ahead.
A memento from the shores of Anilao, where we shall return in a year's time Congratulations to Most Illustrious Brother Mark Mauricio MΣΦ 2014 and the Membership Committee for the successful outing. Many thanks to the 65 brods from Batches 1974, 2006, 2008, 2009, 2010, and the undergraduate brods for making the tenth year of the Anilao Fellowship a grand success. All For The Glory!
