"Know the men who built the institution, the institution that built men, and the men who themselves became institutions."

With the triumphs of the past year still resonant in the hearts and souls of all Mu Doctors, we from the Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity - in all its 78 years of glorious existence - introduced ourselves to the men of Class 2016 and had them witness firsthand "That Ol' Frat Feeling”. The Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity Orientation, held last July 20, 2011 at Elvinario's, Maria Orosa St. Ermita, Manila, is a celebration of Brotherhood in its purest form, and definitely one event any Mu brod or UP College of Medicine freshman must not miss.

Starting off with a welcoming greeting for everyone from Most Exalted Brother Button Ricarte MΣΦ 2012, the stage was turned over to Brods Pipo Bundoc, Carlo Catabijan, and Bob Gomez of MΣΦ 1986. With each passing moment, the night's hosts cracked joke after joke, leaving the brods and the more than 30 freshmen of Class 2016 in attendance doubled up.

 

 

 

Then followed were deeply inspiring speeches on the Four Pillars that each Mu man lives by - Brotherhood, Scholarship, Leadership, and Service - by Dr. Copernico "Kups" Villaruel MΣΦ 1974, Dr. Armand Crisostomo MΣΦ 1981A, Dr. Tammy Dela Rosa MΣΦ 1994, and Dr. Bryan Lim MΣΦ 2010.

The new batch of Mu Sigma Phi scholars - a record-high number of six this year - were also introduced, as well as the sign-ups of the Fraternity. Having made the Mu known to Class 2016, the night ended in a grand invitation – as well as a challenge – for the young men present to join our folds, as well as with the singing of the Batch Songs.

The annual Mu Sigma Phi Fraternity Orientation was made possibly by the Membership Committee, led by Most Illustrious Brother Mark Mauricio MΣΦ 2014, and MΣΦ Batch 2015.
