After obtaining his medical degree from the UPCM as a Rosendo Llamas scholar, Pat trained in Adult and Pediatric Neurology, Anatomic Pathology, and Neuropathology at the University of Kentucky Medical Center, Massachussets General Hospital, and University of Miami Jackson Memorial Hospital. In his fellowship at the University of Miami, Pat described the first female case of adrenoleukodystophy. Here he recieved the Alfred L. Lewis Pathology Research Award for his work on the Thanatophoric Dwarfism. Since then Pat has become a formidable medical pioneer, establishing one of the first Demential Clinics and Brain Banks in the country – as well as similar centres in Hungary, South America, and Asia. Pat was recently accorded the 2009 Distinguished Educator of the Year award by the American Association of Professional Ringside Physiciams which innovatively advocates for the health, safety, and protection of the professional fighter. Pat has recieved numerious other accolades such as 2008 Twenty Outstanding Filipinos Abroad, 2005 Physician of the Year, 2005 Businessman of the Year, 2004 Republican Party’s Ronald Regan Gold Medal, Scientist of the 21st Century, and one of the Best Doctors of America for 2003 and 2004.
